Hello Beautiful People!
After a long absence from my blog here I am writing another post. I have been nominated by my fellow blogger friend Pradita Kapahi for Sunshine Blogger Award. Thank you Pradita for kind consideration.
How do I describe Pradita? She can best be described as a polymath. The more I visit her blog, www.thepraditachronicles.com, the more I know about the incredible writer and artist she is. She is a storyteller, a writer, an artist, a poet, a thinker, an avid reader, a dedicated blogger and a loving mother. In short she is a creative genius. Visit her blog and you will find myriad thoughts, emotions, views and perspectives woven in beautiful words. I am so ever grateful that I came across her on this platform.
Thanks a lot Pradita for nominating me. I would try my best to write a good post.
Let’s come to the rules first. Following are the rules of the nomination –
* Thank the person(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
* Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
* Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
* List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post and/or on your blog.
As I have already covered points 1 and 4. Let me now proceed to answer the interview questions and then nominate my blogger friends with 11 new interview questions.
The Interview Questions:
Why and when did you decide to blog?
I have always been interested in writing. Initially I used to write poems and semi fictions. I started my first blog 10 years back in 2007 on blogger.com. But I stopped blogging in 2011. In the years that followed I was busy doing my Ph D. Meanwhile I missed creative writing and blogging. After I submitted my thesis, I thought it was time to focus on writing again. I decided to start afresh with a new blog.
What is your blog about?
My blog is about thoughts and ideas that I come across daily. These are normal, mundane, ordinary floating thoughts and musings which are part of our lives. I find them interesting and try to express them in the form of poems, short paragraphs and stories.
What do you hope to achieve through your blog?
I am not sure what I hope to achieve through my blog but I want to continue writing. I want to develop myself as a disciplined writer. Something which I lack. May be one day I am able to write one post a day.
Who’s that one person you’d like to invite over for a lunch/dinner date?
I am not sure who would I invite over a lunch/dinner date. As for now no one is in my mind.
Who would you like to interview on your blog?
This one is interesting. I would love to interview his holiness the Dalai Lama on my blog. I’ve met him twice but did not have the opportunity to interview him. I hope I am able to interview him someday.
What’s your ultimate goal in life?
This is the questions that puzzles me till date. I am not certain if there is an appropriate answer to this question. As for now, I want to continue my creative work. There few things I have decided to make part of my life: reading, writing and painting. These are all creative processes and need discipline and dedication. I am also working on a few short stories. I hope I am able to publish them in the form of a book someday.
Name your favourite blogging memory/moment.
There is nothing like a particular blogging moment. But I cherish the moment when I am able to write a constructive post.
Name your worst blogging memory/moment.
When I started this blog, it felt like I was writing after a long time. In a way it was true. For the past few years I had not been writing creative stuff at all. Most of the writing that I did during that time was for my Ph D. When I wrote my first post for this blog I literally struggled to navigate through words and ideas. Fortunately enough I was able to overcome that.
Who or what inspires you?
Life inspires me. Nature inspires me. Ordinary people around me inspire me. Life goes on. This world keeps moving. It is the continuity, the impermanence, the kinetics of life, emotions and things that inspire me the most. On personal level, my mother has inspired me a lot. She possess beautiful perspective towards even the most ordinary things in life.
What message would you give to new bloggers?
I would just say and it applies to me as well. Keep writing regularly. Make writing part of your routine. Be part of a community. Read other bloggers. Learn from them. Make yourself active and visible. Never shy from liking and commenting on others’ posts.
Give a quote that inspires you every time.
“Mind is Everything”. This quote by Buddha helps me deal with the fact that whatever we do, feel, see, perceive, think, talk, mind plays an important role in all of it. Our mind is responsible for our actions. Helps me deal with a number of things in my life.
I hope I answered the questions satisfactorily. I would now nominate the following wonderful blogs:
Here are the 11 new questions that I would love my nominated blogger friends to answer:
- What is the inspiration behind your blog?
- Title of your blog? Why this title?
- How do you define yourself?
- What do you like more? A book or a movie?
- Is there a place where you would like to visit again and again?
- What was the best thing about your day today?
- Something that made you smile today. What?
- If you re-read books what book is your most read? If you don’t re-read books what book would you want to re-read if you could?
- What is the earliest memory you have?
- If you could go back in time and talk to anyone who would you choose?
- What is your favourite season?
Looking forward to your posts. Have a great time. Cheers!
