Looking out of the window
holding a cup of tea
with a book in my lap,
I say to myself, I’m not lonely!
There goes the woman
from the end of the lane
strolling her Petit Basset Griffon Vandeen,
I say to myself, I’m not lonely!
Holding hand in hand
the old couple walk by
What an admirable journey?
I say to myself, I’m not lonely!
The forlorn maple tree
standing in my lawn
changes colour every dawn,
I say to myself, I’m not lonely!
The candle light
keeps illuminating all night
What a reassuring sight?
I say to myself, I’m not lonely!
Staring out of the window
holding a cup of tea
and a book in my hand,
I say to myself, I’m not lonely!
